Aroeira embraces Olympic spirit with summer sports camps

Aroeira Golf Courses is offering children, from the ages of eight to 18 the chance to celebrate an Olympic summer of sport in style by honing their sporting skills at one of the Lisbon venue’s popular summer camps.

As the world’s top sportsmen and women prepare to do battle in Paris, children and teenagers  can participate and learn at a fun multi-sport experience in a safe and supervised environment.

The five-day camps, which will be held from July 1-5, July 8-12 and September 2-6, will feature everything from golf and tennis to footgolf and an array of watersports. Taking place Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, Aroeira’s expert team of coaches will be on hand to deliver a varied programme and combination of sports to help juniors of all abilities to develop a range of skills.

Work on renovating Aroeira Pines Classic, which hosted the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997, and improving sustainability will take place from now until October, with a similar upgrade to follow on Aroeira Challenge later in the year. Among the changes being implemented, extensive renovations will be made to the bunkers, tees, greens, course landscaping and irrigation system to greatly improve the playing experience on offer.

Aroeira is a place where sports meet fun and alongside the Olympic sports experience for the kids, the venue offers a summer events calendar from June to September featuring everything from barbeques and Sunday brunches to jazz concerts and cinema sessions by night – and all just a short drive from the Portuguese capital.

What’s more, the golden sandy beaches of the nearby town of Caparica are just five minutes away while Aroeira works with a number of accommodation partners including the chic Aroeira Lisbon Hotel which, located on the estate, features 68 modern bedrooms and suites, an outdoor pool, a spa and a choice of five bars and restaurants.

Details – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure – the platform responsible for managing the hospitality, sports and leisure areas of Arrow Global in Portugal – took management of Aroeira Golf Courses at the end of 2023.

Aroeira is among two of nine golf courses managed by Details in Portugal, with others including Vilamoura, Lagos (Palmares) and Vale Pisão. In addition, the group manages 15 hotels across the country.
